Of the more than 3,700 medical school applicants from across the country, 100 were selected to join the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. The class of 2017, OUWB’s third group of medical students, gathered at Meadow Brooke Hall on Friday, Aug. 9 to don their white coats and recite the Declaration of Geneva – the declaration of a physician’s dedication to the humanitarian goals of medicine.
The OUWB medical school was opened in 2011 with a charter class of 50 students. As Michigan’s first new allopathic medical school in 47 years, the OUWB curriculum combines science coursework with clinical training through every step of the program.
